Part of my Life...

Delicious Doodles provided this image
Aud Sentiments new challenge is an "Anything Goes".
I was playing around with this digital image from the sponsor  - "flipping" the image and changing the size and I came up with this combination that seemed perfect for a male child.  Since there is no need to color this image, a black and white theme seemed to go with the flow!

TECHNIQUE
[Note: specific information on supplies and sources will be found below under “Supplies”.]

  • Made a 5x5" white base card with a top fold.
  • Focal image and sentiment matted on black
  • a 1" square punch used to create all the fishtails
  • A MS punch border punch used on a strip of black [only one punch width]
  • Silver metallic "half- pearls" were added to the border punched area.
  • Inside was completed with a message panel matted in black and a punched sentiment from another MS Border Punch.

HAPPY St. PATRICK's DAY...

Éirinn go Brách
which is translated
"Ireland until the end of time".

The Anglicization of this Irish language phrase is the more familiar
Erin go Bragh  - or Ireland Forever!

My Niece and I took a month long road trip a couple of years back and drove the entire perimeter of Ireland.  Not nearly enough time - but still brings a Mona Lisa smile and a wee tilt of my head at the memories.

Mad as a March Hare...

"March Hare" was provided by Rick St. Dennis
I always wondered about that phrase...
The first record of the belief in their madness, or in this case their brainlessness, was circa 1500, in Blowbol's Test reprinted by W. C. Hazlitt in Remains Early Popular Poetry of England, 1864:
"Thanne [th]ey begyn to swere and to stare, And be as braynles as a Marshe hare."
It is believed it derives from their odd, excited behavior during their mating season of boxing, jumping etc. - throughout their breeding season, which actually extends over several months starting in March.

I certainly think this young buck qualifies as mad -
And the background papers certainly add to the frenetic activity.

613 Ave C 's current challenge is for National Craft Month and is to "use stash to make room for new purchases".  Everything used in my design is stash.  The team has created some fascinating takes on the theme and you can admire their work and get further info on the challenge deadlines and rules HERE!!  This is SUCH an easy challenge... get some of that stuff off your desk and leave it on our front porch so we can see what you've created!
